Monsoon is coming, and our oldest barn roof is failing over 40 rescued cows.
Our oldest barn has sheltered rescued cows for over a decade, but its roof has reached the end of its life. Last monsoon, water pooled across half the floor and the herd crowded into a single dry corner for days. We patched what we could, but a patch will not survive another season.
Every rupee goes to materials and skilled labour, tracked against the campaign budget and reported in our updates below. When the barn is done, 40 cows will have a shelter that lasts for years, not months.
From the field
The steel truss frame is up and inspected. Roofing sheets are next, weather permitting.
Volunteers cleared the old structure and we poured the new footings for the barn.
